The Science and Industry Museum will reopen from Wednesday 19 May 2021. 

The Science and Industry Museum’s brilliant collection charts many of the discoveries and innovations that began in Manchester. Find out more about some of the great things that have happened in Manchester over the last 250 years. A great day out for all ages, the Science and Industry Museum is open all year round and is free admission.

Visitors can see the world’s oldest surviving passenger railway and the world’s first railway warehouse. Inspiring and fun, find out how the Manchester Railway changed the world forever.

With many hands-on activities, families can explore the wonder of science, enjoy live interactive demonstrations and take part in science shows.

You’ll find the Science and Industry Museum housed in five different buildings.  The museum has many family-friendly exhibits and special exhibitions, making it an enjoyable day out for everyone.
