A brilliant day of workshops, hands-on experiments, and live demonstrations to celebrate the installation of Compost Computer

Created in response to the climate crisis and the dominance of energy-intensive big tech infrastructures, Compost Computer is an off-grid server powered by bio-energy from decomposing organic waste – compost. The energy created will power FutureEverything’s newly designed public website, created using low-carbon principles and lightweight code.

Workshop activities include:

  • Composting workshop with Sow the City
  • Techniques for testing soil fertility with University of Manchester and MUD
  • Approaching compost as kin, with FutureEverything
  • Demonstrations of the Compost Computer hardware and software with University of Arts London
  • Coding workshop with the Compost Computer
