EMPOWER: Women Changing Music

EMPOWER: Women Changing Music is an initiative dedicated to promoting fairness and gender equality in the music industry. By spotlighting female composers and musicians, EMPOWER creates an environment that celebrates women, broadening the historically male-dominated canon, and is an outlet for positive change.

Our live Manchester event will be an evening of powerful performances and thought-provoking conversation where we celebrate and showcase the breadth and diversity of female music. Our panel includes Emily Davis (violinist), Florence Anna Maunders (composer) and Rachel Williams (CEO of Streetwise Opera), and our performing groups include a jazz quintet, string quartet and a new music scratch ensemble. EMPOWER Manchester will also features the Manchester premiere of OpusHER winner Molly Arnuk’s winning piece, making it an inspiring, creative, and empowering evening!
