Here to Remember (Live)

A premiere of new work exploring collective memory and the Black experience.

A one-off event presenting new work by songwriter Daudi Matsiko, DJ and producer Mia Koden and musician and visual designer Obeka.

Here to Remember is a commission for Black and Black mixed heritage artists to explore their own personal experiences of history, memory and lineage.

Hosted by Magic EKJ, the night will feature three performances and the opportunity to hear more about the work from the artists themselves.

On the decks, we’ll be joined by Hur̃guf whose tunes go from percussive club sounds to feel-good classics, from the North West of England to the horn of Africa.

Tickets are pay what you can. Suggested donation is £5 but you can still book for free.

We also have a small budget to cover travel costs. If you’d like to come along but the cost of travel presents a barrier, please contact kinaya@brightersound.com.
