Band on the Wall is currently closed for rennovations and will be open again in 2021.

A multi-award winning venue, Band on the Wall has played a unique role in Manchester’s thriving music and cultural landscape for almost a century. Holding a sterling reputation for bringing the finest jazz, blues, folk and international music to the city, Band on the Wall is also noted nationally for its innovative music projects and touring programmes.

A living music library, Band on the Wall found itself at the centre of Manchester’s renowned post-punk scene in the late 1970s when Joy Division and Buzzcocks played some of their earliest gigs at the venue.

Welcoming and inspiring, Band on the Wall is a place where everyone can access and enjoy music from a wealth of diverse cultures. Working together with creative music charity, Brighter Sound, the venue delivers projects, courses and workshops to support emerging musicians too.
