Newton Heath Library

Following the launch of The Sharp Project, back in 2011, Newton Heath has firmly established itself at the forefront of the new media industry in Manchester.

Building on the success of The Sharp Project and tapping into the next tech-savvy generation, coding is one of the many activities on offer at Newton Heath Library.

If tech isn’t really your thing, the library also offers story sessions for little-ones, job hunt advice for the ambitious and knitting groups for the creative and thrifty. There’s also a Saturday Club and Reading Group for young people.

Sitting in a lovely location next to the canal, Newton Heath Library also attracts many visitors who come to see the resident wildlife and wave at the barges as they pass by.

The first hour of every weekday is reserved for people aged over 60.
