Offering guided tours, public open days and special events from March/April to October/November, Victoria Baths is a unique heritage attraction and events venue.

This Grade-II listed former swimming baths is a real Victorian delight for visitors of all ages. Victoria Baths first opened in 1906 and was built to improve the health of the local community. Now, although not operating as a functional swimming pool, the building has undergone a period of restoration and opens regularly. Known for its stunning internal features – multicoloured brickwork, mosaic flooring, stained glass and terracotta decoration – the restoration on this fascinating building continues.

Victoria baths hosts a variety of special events – literary events, weekend festivals, film screenings and one-off swimming sessions – alongside guided tours and family open days. The venue is also available for hire and is licensed to accommodate wedding ceremonies too.

Open 11am to 3pm on Welcome Wednesdays between April and September. Free entry with an option to take a ticketed guided tour (£8 pp / U16s Free) at 1pm
