A community hub for the people of Hulme, the Niamos Centre is a co-operatively run visual arts centre, music studio, micro-bakery and arts venue.

With a rich arts history, the Niamos Centre occupies the former site of the Hulme Playhouse. Built in 1902, the Playhouse was alive with theatre and music hall performances until it became a cinema in 1920, and then a BBC recording studio, and then a theatre again. Following a period of inactivity the theatre was relaunched in 2018 as a community arts centre.

A fine example of the power of community in Manchester, the Niamos Centre is now run entirely by volunteers. Housing a historic performance space, the venue has hosted 26 live music events, 3 conventions, 4 exhibitions, 3 large scale community events and countless workshops since reopening its doors as the Niamos Centre in 2018.
