Giving riders something to really get their tyres into, Platt Fields Outdoor BMX Track is a popular facility in Manchester open to all BMX and mountain bikers.

Don’t know your half-pipe from your flair? Don’t panic, the Manchester BMX Club welcomes everybody, whatever your ability. A great introduction to BMX riding, non members are welcome (it’s £2 for non-members and £1 for members) provided they are wearing a suitable helmet, gloves and padding. The centre also has a limited number of bikes and safety equipment available, which is distributed on a first come first served basis.

Alongside the National Cycling Centre, Manchester certainly has a world-class cycling scene.
