Chinese New Year in Manchester

For 2022 Chinese New Year begins on 1 February and brings the Year of the Tiger. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Manchester’s Chinese New Year festival will look a little different this year.

Although the Dragon Parade and fireworks will not be able to take place this year, there are many ways we can welcome the Year of the Tiger.

Manchester city centre will be dotted with beautiful red lanterns and keep a look out for the friendly tiger watching over St Anns Square. There will also be live performance, street food, a funfair and lots of smaller community events taking place too.

Wishing everyone a healthy and happy 2022. Gong hei fat choy!
