The Manchester Museum

Situated within the University of Manchester, Manchester Museum is home to an array of artefacts from the natural world. Highlights at the museum include a fossilised T-Rex called Stan, ancient Egyptian objects, and live amphibians and reptiles. The Museum also houses a South Asia Gallery and a Chinese Culture Gallery.

Whatever your age, there is plenty to keep everybody entertained. Get involved with hands-on activities, tours, storytelling and performance at the museum’s monthly family events and school holiday activities. There are also regular Baby Explorers, Magic Carpet sensory play and interactive story sessions for pre-schoolers.

The museum also hosts regular evening social events for adults. With talks, debates, conversations and friendly, practical workshops on a range of different topics, there is always something new to discover.
