A truly magical setting, Christmas in Manchester really is one of the most wonderful times of the year.

From the 8 November, Skate Manchester’s huge, covered ice rink returns to Cathedral Gardens. The Christmas Markets will open on this day too. A brilliant way to celebrate the start of the festive season in Manchester.

Plus, the heart-warming Christmas Parade will take place on 8 December this year. Highlights include Manchester’s very own Elf Express – a spectacular train with carriages full of elves – and the return of the enchanting Snow Queen.

There are also lots of community activities happening throughout December too. With a variety of fun events for all ages – there is something for everyone.

Alternatively, it’s ok to escape the mayhem of Christmas too. Get wrapped up and take a trip to one of the many parks and green spaces outside of the city centre for some well-deserved sanctuary.
