Museums and Galleries in Manchester

There are lots of museums and galleries in Manchester worth visiting. A brilliant day out for all ages, all of Manchester’s museums and galleries have free entry for the city’s residents – though some special exhibitions may occasionally be ticketed.

Take your pick from the brilliant Science and Industry Museum – where you can learn about – and try out – old and new technology; the National Football Museum, the People’s History Museum and the Manchester Museum, where you will find Stan the giant T-Rex.

Or you could check out one of the art galleries in the city. From the larger galleries such as Manchester Art Gallery and The Whitworth to smaller spaces like Castlefield Gallery or the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art where you can see exhibitions by artists of today.

The Whitworth
