Manchester Libraries’ extensive lending catalogue isn’t the only thing on offer at Burnage Library, Activity and Information Hub. In addition, the centre runs toddlers’ Storytime, local history sessions for the over-50s, digital drop-ins, children’s coding club, book clubs and craft sessions.

There’s always something wonderful happening in the local Burnage community. Completed projects at the hub include the Big Burnage Animal Parade, where carnival arts organisation, Global Grooves worked with local school children to build carnival creatures and make headdresses and masks for a parade. The Burnage Memory Bank has also engaged with over 650 local people to discover, celebrate and share stories of the local area.

Phew! And if all of that sounds a little bit hectic, you can always just saunter around the beautifully maintained library garden and appreciate the handy work of the green-fingered volunteers.

The first hour of every weekday is reserved for people aged over 60.
