The Science and Industry Museum tells the story of 250 years of ideas and inventions that began in Manchester and changed the world. Explore the city’s amazing history in the Revolution Manchester gallery, discover how cotton shaped the city in the Textiles Gallery, and get hands-on in the family-friendly Experiment gallery.
You’ll find the museum’s resident Explainers at stops throughout the museum, and step outside to the Planting Stories garden to learn more about the museum’s past.
Don’t miss the newly reopened Power Hall: The Andrew Law Gallery. It’s packed with iconic engines and locomotives, perfect for curious visitors of all ages and a great place to warm up on a winter day.
The museum also runs brilliant events, exhibitions and family activities, and you’ll find a welcoming café open from 9.30am serving drinks, sandwiches, pastries and snacks.
The Museum is open every day from 10.00–17.00 during school holidays.
