The Edge Theatre and Arts Centre

A stage and chairs at The Edge

Based in a 19th century former Red Cross Hospital, The Edge is a lively arts centre in Chorlton. You can enjoy watching comedy and high-quality theatre shows at the centre. There is also a participatory arts programme as well as rehearsal and workshop rooms for hire.

The Edge hosts touring theatre shows while producing its own original work too. The centre works with people who have been affected by homelessness, vulnerable adults and young people to create brilliant theatre.

Launched in 2011 with actors Julie Hesmondhalgh and Sir Mark Rylance as patrons, The Edge is also home to an award-winning cafe that hosts a training programme in hospitality for adults with learning disabilities. Perfect for relaxing with a coffee or a pre-theatre meal, The Dressing Room Cafe serves great cake too.
