The Whitworth

The Whitworth

Offering both art and nature, the Whitworth was the first English gallery to be built in a park. In more recent years the gallery has won many awards including Visit England’s Gold Prize for Large Visitor Attraction of the Year and Art Fund’s Museum of the Year.

The gallery has many outdoor spaces within the surrounding Whitworth Park. Enjoy walking around the art garden, sculpture terrace and orchard garden. There are many outdoor areas to discover and a cafe in the trees to find too. We love that there is beauty inside and outside the walls of the gallery.

One of Manchester’s must-see attractions, the Whitworth offers artwork from some of the world’s most respected artists alongside regularly changing exhibitions. With organised outdoor activities for health and wellbeing – there is always something to enjoy. There are also regular family activities too. Little ones will enjoy taking part in welly walks and outdoor art club.

Whether you’re visiting with your friends, family or alone, the Whitworth offers a wonderful day out in a beautiful setting.
