Just like the neighbouring library in Chorlton, the fabulous Didsbury Library was funded by the generous benefactor, Andrew Carnegie. The Grade II listed building was opened (with a golden key) in 1915 and has been providing the residents of Didsbury with books ever since.

A wonderful gift to South Manchester, generations of Didsbury villagers have learned to love literature and learning here. Offering DVDs, wifi, local history and reading groups. The library also hosts La Petite Ecole de Manchester, a French speaking school for children from French speaking families, on alternate Saturdays.

The library also offers weekly Tiny Tots and Toddler Time sessions, and additionally, the sessions in French, on alternate Tuesdays.

The heart of Didsbury life, the library has been supplying village residents with books, creativity and imagination for over 100 years. Long may it continue.
