International Mother Language Day is celebrated every year on 21 February by people worldwide. In Manchester, more than 20 events are taking place to celebrate International Mother Language Day 2024.

Most of these events are family-friendly and free to take part in, with many events happening during the February half-term school holidays.

Families should check out the Open Mic Night at Manchester Poetry Library; the ‘Looking for Languages’ Trail at Manchester Museum and the multilingual storytimes at Instituto Cervantes and Alliance Française.
