International Mother Language Day is celebrated every year on 21 February by people all over the world.

Did you know there are about 200 different languages spoken in Manchester? International Mother Language Day is a time to celebrate our city’s many cultures, and also the different languages spoken in Manchester.

With many wonderful events taking place across Manchester, International Mother Language Day will be celebrated from 12 – 27 February. Get involved. Join in celebrating the many languages and cultures that make up our vibrant city.
