Our friends at Heaton Park are hosting a variety of events to mark Love Parks Week.

Saturday 27 and 28 July from 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm:  Meet the amazing tramway volunteers at the Tram Museum and take a ride through the park on one of the heritage carriages.

Sunday 28 of July from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Meet Heaton Park’s resident beekeepers and find out how you can help bees and other pollinators. View our observation hive and enjoy the taste of local honey (FREE).

Monday 29 July: Have a go at some nature-inspired crafts and contribute towards the Park’s community exhibition, going on display at the end of the summer holidays (FREE).

Tuesday 30 July from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Volunteer with the woodland management group. Play a part in maintaining the woodlands in Heaton Park and learn some new skills along the way. All equipment is provided, just wear suitable clothing. Open to all ages and abilities, no experience required. Numbers are limited so please confirm your attendance by emailing vinnyholt@gmail.com (FREE).

Wednesday 31 July at 10:00 am: Join the litter-picking volunteers at the Farm Centre reception and help keep the park clean and tidy whilst getting some gentle exercise (FREE).

Wednesday 31 July from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm: Take part in the 40 Days of Summer Fun Challenge. Grab an activity sheet and tick off as many of the challenges as you can. Join us at 11:00 and 2:00 pm for group activities such as storytelling, meet the animals, den building, and sports day. Check out the blackboard in the courtyard to see which events are running each Wednesday (FREE).
