There’s lots happening at Heaton Park over the May half-term holidays. Families can enjoy a packed seven days of free, fun activities – best of all, there’s no need to book ahead, you can just drop in.
Here’s what you can expect on each day:
Sunday 26 May: ‘Meet the groups’ – Head down to meet some the groups based in Heaton Park. If you’d like to know more about the Tramway Museum and the park’s Beekeepers – now is your chance.
Monday 27 May: ‘Cinema in the Classroom’ – A family-friendly film will be picked for all to enjoy in the classroom
Tuesday 28 May: ‘Explore Heaton Park’ – Explore the park as you work your way through the Nature Detectives Work Sheet. Pick up your worksheet for the park’s reception.
Wednesday 29 May: ‘Meet the Animals’ – Pop along to find out all about the furry and feathered park residents. The Animal Centre staff will be on hand to answer all your questions.
Thursday 30 May: ‘Crafts in the Classroom’ – Create a greetings card at this crafty card-making session in the Stables Classroom.
Friday 31 May: ‘Don’t Get Bored, Play Games’ – Join the friendly folk at Heaton Park for some traditional board game fun. Meet at the Stables Courtyard and Classroom.
Saturday 1 June: ‘Colour Heaton In’ – Pop into Heaton Park reception or the Lakeside Café to pick up your free pavement chalks. Get creative as you write messages, draw pictures or play hopscotch – it’s up to you.
