Medieval Manchester Festival is a family-friendly daytime event at Chetham’s in Manchester City Centre.

With live music, food, drink and medieval entertainment, the event marks the 600th anniversary of Manchester’s oldest buildings.

Chetham’s stunning medieval buildings date right back to 1421. This special 2-day festival celebrates Manchester’s history, and the incredible story of Chetham’s.

Step inside the historic courtyard for food and drink, storytelling and live music. You can also take part in some medieval games.

Explore Chetham’s Library – the oldest public library in the English speaking world – with special guided tours of the historic site and collections.

There will also be family-friendly performances from Horrible Histories taking place in The Stoller Hall.
