With restaurants, galleries, museums and wonderful city views, there are many things to do near Castlefield, Manchester.
With a strong industrial and Roman heritage, the area is home to a network of canals and the ruins of an ancient Roman fort.
As a designated Urban Heritage Park, the area is only accessible to pedestrians, and all of the canals and cobbled streets are protected. Take a look at all of the brightly painted barges moored up during a relaxing stroll. Or stop by one of the many bars and restaurants to watch the world go by.
You’ll find lots of things to do in the local area too. Head to HOME Manchester to see an art exhibition, enjoy a theatre show or to watch a film. You could also have a look around Castlefield Gallery, which is just around the corner too.
If in doubt, the Science and Industry Museum is an amazing day out for all ages. Flying the flag for all of the amazing discoveries made in Manchester. The museum has many hands-on activities and interactive family events happening throughout the year.
The Museum is open every day from 10.00–17.00 during school holidays.
