St Patrick’s Day in Manchester

Taking place on 17 March, St Patrick’s Day is celebrated widely in Manchester. For 2022, the city’s St Patrick’s Day Parade is set to return, after a year’s absence due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The parade will take place on Sunday March 13, beginning at the Irish World Heritage Centre in Cheetham Hill at 12:00 noon. However, the parade route has been shortened for 2022, due to the building work taking place at Manchester Town Hall. Instead, the parade will head down Queen’s Road and then onto Cheetham Hill Road, before moving towards the AO Arena. The parade will then turn around to head back to the Irish World Heritage Centre.

A cultural and religious celebration, St Patrick’s Day is a great excuse to head into the city and celebrate. Whether you put a green ribbon in your hair or wear a novelty hat, there are plenty of places to have a good craic in Manchester.
