Common Ground

Family friendly

A wide countryside view shows pale limestone rocks scattered across a grassy slope, suggesting an ancient stone setting. A single person crouches beside one group of stones, while patchwork fields and low hills extend into the distance under a soft, open sky.

Explore Common Ground, a fascinating collection of artwork inspired by the landscapes of the Peak District.

Created by Manchester Met graduates Abbie Fowler, Freya Boothroyd and Joab Harrison, the ast collection brings together sculpture and film, and natural materials like clay gathered from the Peak District. Through sound, image and texture, the artists share their personal responses to the area’s rocks, history and environment.

There will also be film screenings and workshops during the exhibition, offering lots of ways to understand the landscape and the artists’ ideas.
