Sharpen your colouring pencils and pop along to Hulme Library for a family-friendly drawing session.

The session will be led by Ian Morris, illustrator of The Library Book. Ian will bring his sketch books and show you how he creates characters in his head and then draws them on the page.

Suitable for ages 5+, places are free, but please contact Hulme Library on 0161 227 3739 or call in to book. You’ll also find Ian Morris delivering these sessions at North City Library and Burnage Library too.

Meanwhile, budding young illustrators (aged between 5 and 16) should take a look at the ‘Design a Library Card’ competition too. Follow in Ian Morris’ footsteps and become one of the new library card creators. You can also win £40 of art supplies plus a poster of your winning Manchester Libraries card design.
