Try traditional Chinese calligraphy in this friendly beginner’s workshop led by a calligraphy teacher.

Start with a short introduction to the history of Chinese calligraphy, then learn how to hold a brush and practise writing characters using different classic styles. It’s a calm, hands-on session where you can explore a new skill and enjoy the rhythm of brush and ink on paper.

All materials are provided and you’ll take home your own calligraphy fan and bookmark.

Workshops run on Sundays, 12–1pm from 12 July to 6 September.

A wide countryside view shows pale limestone rocks scattered across a grassy slope, suggesting an ancient stone setting. A single person crouches beside one group of stones, while patchwork fields and low hills extend into the distance under a soft, open sky.
