Four outstanding Black writers are headlining the Manchester Literature Festival 2023.

Manchester Literature Festival welcomes writer and broadcaster Lemn Sissay with his latest poetry collection, Let the Light Pour In.

Best-selling author Zadie Smith, of multi award-winning novel White Teeth, returns to the festival with her new historical fiction book The Fraud.

Jamaican reggae poet, performer and activist Linton Kwesi Johnson will appear alongside poet Jackie Kay. Following a short performance of his poetry, he will discuss his work, Black British culture and the people who have inspired him.

Writer Max Porter will also perform a reading from his new book, Shy. The dramatic reading will be performed with a live electronic score by Roly Porter.
