International Mother Language Day at Manchester Poetry Library

Manchester Poetry Library will be celebrating International Mother Language Day on Thursday 23 February. All events are free to attend and there will also be refreshments provided in the library.

Drop in throughout the day to see a variety of books on display in different languages. There will also be a number of activities for all ages to enjoy.

Running from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm is a relaxed family-friendly ‘Love to Read’ session. Bring along a children’s book in any language to share and enjoy colouring and writing activities for all ages. You can just drop-in for this activity.

From 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm there will be a Multilingual Open Mic Poetry Session. Poems can be read in any language, and can be your own work or written by someone else. Places at this event are limited and you must book in advance.
