Manchester Museum’s South Asian Film Club returns for 2025 with a series of film showings inspired by the Museum’s award-winning South Asia Gallery.
Enjoy a screening of the heartfelt, visually stunning The Queen of My Dreams, as part of Manchester Museum’s 2025 South Asian Film Club. The film tells the story of Azra, a Pakistani-Canadian navigating grief and clashing values with her conservative mother after her father’s sudden death. Blending 1960s Karachi with 1990s Canada, this is a colourful story of identity and family.
This season of South Asian Film Club has been programmed by South Asia Gallery co-curator Nazma Noor and the film will be introduced by Aminah Zaman, a queer British-Pakistani writer and poet based in Manchester.
