Rain or shine, indoor or outdoor, you can expect trails, crafts and games for all when you visit Elizabeth Gaskell’s House this summer.

Explore the house’s historic garden on the ‘Family Garden Trail’. You can find your way around the trail using QR codes and your mobile phone.

During the summer school holidays you’ll find Victorian family games like croquet and boules on the lawn, and you are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the garden.

Inside the Victorian House, there’s the much-loved ‘Cranford the Cat Trail’ alongside dressing-up, colouring and hands-on activities. There is also creative craft in the Servants Hall.

Both trails, garden games and craft activities are free, and children under 16 are free with a paying adult. Adults admission is £7.50 and tickets are valid for 12 months so you can return as many times as you want within the year. Summer Fun takes place at the House every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11:00 am-4.30 pm (last entry 3:00 pm).
