Celebrate the National Year of Reading with a summer of family fun at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House.
Follow the Puffins, Penguins and Ladybirds trail as you explore the House, then relax in the cosy reading corner with its free book swap. Children can also make a puffin beak, design their own book cover, and enjoy traditional garden games.
All activities are self-led, so you can explore at your own pace and make a day of your visit. Kids go free with a paying adult. Just book your general ticket for the day you want to visit and join in as much as you like.
Open Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, 11am–4:30pm (last entry 3pm).
Adult admission is £8.50 (valid for 12 months) and children go free with a paying adult.
