Manchester Museum and The University of Manchester,  with the Imperial War Museum North, are hosting a special memorial event to honour the victims of the Bengal Famine of 1943.

This commemorative event, remembering at least three million Indians who died during World War II, is believed to be the first of its kind. You’ll be able to hear testimonies from eyewitnesses, and witness performances and discussions around the lasting effects of war and starvation.

BBC journalist Kavita Puri, creator of the podcast Three Million, will also join this event.
