Step back in time for a magical Victorian Christmas at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House. The beautifully decorated Grade II-listed home will be filled with candles, holly and a twinkling tree, offering a glimpse into the festive traditions that shaped Christmas as we know it today. Discover how the Victorians celebrated with ghost stories, parlour games and a grand dining table set for Christmas dinner. Enjoy festive music, craft activities and a Christmas puzzle trail for children, plus warming drinks and mince pies in the tea room.

Elizabeth Gaskell’s House is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm (last entry at 3:00 pm).

Booking is essential. Adult tickets arre £9.00 and under 16s are free of charge.
