Step into the colourful world of Santiago Yahuarcani – an artist, storyteller and Indigenous leader from the Amazon rainforest. In this collection of art, The Beginning of Knowledge, he shares powerful paintings made with natural materials, telling stories passed down by his ancestors.

His work shows the deep connection between people, nature and the land – and why it’s so important to protect them. This is his first big exhibition in the UK and is part of Manchester International Festival 2025, shown at the Whitworth.
